What Is GBDN?
The Georgia Baptist Disciple-Makers Network, equips disciple-making ministers of the Gospel in Christian ministry who serve in churches and ministries connected to the Georgia Baptist Mission Board. We promote excellence in the study, teaching, and application of God’s Word through:
- Continuing Education
- Iron-Sharpening-Iron Times of Interaction
- Fellowship and Encouragement
- Inspiration and Worship
The purpose of GBDN is Equipping, Encouraging and Connecting Baptist Christian educators in Georgia by providing opportunities for spiritual growth, professional development, fellowship, relationship building, and ministry support.
Who is invited?
Membership is made up of persons involved in, interested in, or retired from the ministry of Christian Education/Disciple Making. GBDN brings together ministers of education, discipleship and administration, as well as ministers to senior adults, median adults, young adults, college adults, students, children, and preschoolers in the local church. In addition, GBDN welcomes and appreciates joint efforts with state missionaries, associational missionaries, and representatives from Southern Baptist Convention colleges, seminaries, and entities such as NAMB, IMB, and LifeWay.
Since its founding in 1963 as the Georgia Baptist Association of Religious Education (GBREA), the GBDN has consistently sought to educate, inspire, and build bridges among fellow ministers. In doing so, it has given a growing and expanding area of church ministry new recognition and has become a vibrant vehicle for the exchange of ideas. The members of GBDN have been known for their love for the Lord, their commitment to God's Word, and their desire to help one another.
Wherever you serve and whatever your title, if you are involved in Christian Education and Disciple Making, GBDN is for you!
